Foods to Avoid: The Trap of Rice, Sweets, and Snacks
(II) Foods that are strictly prohibited from consumption
Rice-based foods and sweets are strictly prohibited.
The following foods are strictly prohibited: rice, candy, fruit juice, and fruit.
Although these foods are converted into sugars in the body and become one of the sources of energy, they can also turn into excess fat, accumulating in subcutaneous tissue, and naturally causing a person to gain weight.
Sugars not only combine with fatty acids to form fats, but they also increase appetite. This is a major cause of the vicious cycle: weight gain → increased appetite → eating → weight gain → increased appetite... Therefore, the first step to losing weight is to avoid sugary foods.
Rice-based foods are strictly prohibited.
Rice-based foods include: white rice, bread, pasta, fried pastries, shumai, Italian biscuits, etc.
The main reason for absolutely prohibiting these foods, besides their sugar content, is that they are refined, losing their original nutrients during the refining process. If you eat too much, your stomach will be full of starch clumps, making it difficult to accept other foods, leading to nutritional imbalances.
Is it feasible to use starch as a source of calories? In fact, too much starch will only lead to bulky legs and a bloated figure. While we do need some starch to serve as fuel for converting subcutaneous fat into energy, we can easily obtain these small amounts from ingredients like the coating of tempura or the flour used in fried vegetables, so there is really no need to consume it separately.
You might wonder why you need to lose weight. You can eat fish to get fat, but you can't eat white rice, noodles, or other starchy foods.
Simply put, even if you eat a lot of fatty foods like fish, if you don't eat sugary foods, the fat from the fish won't be absorbed by fat cells and accumulate in your body.
People who are deeply troubled by obesity should understand these points and avoid adopting incorrect eating habits, as these will increase body fat. Instead, they should find ways to convert body fat into energy and burn it off, which will reduce body fat.
The most important method is exercise-ingesting enough oxygen stimulates the secretion of adrenocortical hormone (ACTH) and adrenaline, which helps break down body fat.
The Wada method of weight loss emphasizes the importance of breathing techniques. This is because exercise not only strengthens the body but also enhances internal exertion, thereby increasing fat burning.
One thing to note is that sprinting 100 meters with all your might is not a suitable exercise for weight loss.
Snacks and desserts
If nutrition is unbalanced, one will crave sweets and desserts indiscriminately. If one eats too much of these, one's nutrition will become completely disordered.
For those accustomed to sweets, the nine-course diet might feel unfamiliar at first. The food may not suit their taste, potentially causing nausea and vomiting. This is a phenomenon known as sugar addiction, caused by excessively high blood sugar due to sugar poisoning. Once sugar is deprived, the body cannot adapt, leading to nausea.
Just bear with it a little longer, and you'll gradually get used to it after a week. If you really can't adapt, you can add some vinegar to your food or sweet vinegar to your pickles. This way, you can get sugar while simultaneously reducing your sugar intake.
Besides sweets and desserts, there are also some fruits, snacks, chewing gum, sugar products, honey, etc., that must be avoided.
If you think, "I'll only eat a little bit occasionally..." and share a piece of cake with friends, you're just fooling yourself; your plan will be ruined. Therefore, during your weight loss journey, you need to be able to resist food temptations.
[Beverages]
Fruit juices, cola, and other sweet drinks contain high levels of sugar. The same applies to soft drinks and lactic acid drinks; excessive consumption is harmful and can lead to weight gain.
Drinking milk outside of mealtimes is the same as drinking coffee, black tea, or other beverages, and it is not good for your health.
Sugar can destroy calcium, and excessive sugar intake will destroy the nutrients absorbed from the nine-vegetable diet. People who love sweets and those who practice the nine-vegetable diet should understand this.
[fruit]
Fructose in fruits is also a concern, as it is more easily converted into fat than other sugars. Therefore, it's crucial to be mindful of your intake.
In particular, fruits such as watermelon, peaches, cantaloupe, bananas, persimmons, pears, and chestnuts should be strictly avoided. You might worry that this would result in a vitamin deficiency. Don't worry, vitamins can be obtained from vegetables, which is one of the reasons I encourage people to eat more vegetables.
It's not that you can't eat all fruits. You can eat grapefruit, oranges, and especially lemons, which you should eat more of.
Alcoholic beverages
Beer, cocktails, spirits, fruit wines, and all other alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited. Do not attempt to lose weight by drinking alcohol; this will only damage your health and result in a gaunt and unattractive appearance. Furthermore, alcohol is extremely harmful to the skin and should absolutely not be consumed.
If you absolutely must drink alcohol at work, try to convert it into energy as much as possible to prevent it from accumulating as fat in your body. You can try drinking alcohol while simultaneously losing weight.
Alcohol has the property of burning up immediately upon movement in the body, and we can take advantage of this.
Before drinking alcohol, follow a nine-course dietary therapy. Do not eat anything else while drinking; this will naturally reduce the amount of alcohol you consume. After drinking, take a shower immediately upon returning home. The next day, first stretch your body and do some gymnastics before taking another shower.
The method described above aims to quickly eliminate the alcohol consumed from the body while avoiding foods that cause weight gain. Although this method of weight loss is slow, it will definitely lead to weight loss.
Snacks should never be eaten between meals.
During the bodybuilding and weight loss exercise program, you absolutely cannot eat snacks. Eating a snack after a nine-course meal is equivalent to eating another meal, which will prevent you from utilizing subcutaneous fat.
Don't assume that you can eat more vegetables and other low-calorie foods just because they're low in calories. If you still crave a snack after eating nine dishes, it means your diet isn't balanced enough. Once you get enough nutrition, the craving will naturally disappear.
What do you do when you can't resist the urge to eat sweets?
What if you're already addicted to sweets? You can drink some artificial sweeteners. Since they're not sucrose, they won't affect the effectiveness of the Wada's Diet Method.
Artificial sweeteners can be added to coffee and beets to replace sugar, which can help alleviate the symptoms of sugar addiction. Then, gradually reduce the consumption of sweeteners until the habit of sugar addiction is changed.
It's okay to drink as much water as you want
If the body is dehydrated, the blood becomes thicker, circulation deteriorates, cell function decreases, and organs such as the heart are affected. Don't worry about drinking too much water; the body will automatically eliminate excess water, either as sweat or urine.
Excessive intake of salt, sugar, and alcohol can cause water retention in the body, leading to edema. This should also be noted.
Besides plain water, you can also drink it regularly. For example, apple cider vinegar is very effective in relieving fatigue; try not to add honey or sugar when drinking it.
While stimulating beverages like coffee are not prohibited, it's best not to drink too much. Similarly, when drinking water and other beverages, avoid consuming large amounts at once; moderation is key.
Gender differences and motivation for weight loss: How women can learn from men to successfully maintain their weight
Men find weight loss easier because they don't crave sweets, don't need to eat to relieve stress, and don't feel guilty about disrupting their diets. Women can learn from men: avoid sweets and get back on track after one transgression. Maintaining weight requires motivation: keep old photos of yourself when you were overweight in visible places. Losing 2 pounds can lower cholesterol, and...
